Rubber Floor Tile
There are a few rooms in your home that can benefit from rubber floor tile, though this material will not last as long as some other kinds.
It is not advisable that you install rubber floor tile within areas that receive a large amount of foot traffic. Since this material is not incredibly durable, you will find that it rips and cracks after a couple of years. However, if you want to place this material in an area that needs to be protected, but isn’t used a lot, this is an excellent choice. There is really nothing to installing this material if you have the right adhesive, though there are some color options to consider.
While color is important for aesthetic reasons, it is also important due to the fact that solid colors will show gouges, cracks, rips, and tears much more than any type of darker, multi-colored, surface will. If you are going to choose a solid color, make sure to stick with darker colors that will not show as much. This type of flooring is great to walk on (it is largely absorbent), and it is perfect for a child’s room. However, you can’t expect this type of material to last forever, so make sure that you want to install it at all.
Other types of material may be really expensive, but you can be sure that something such as marble, porcelain, or ceramic will last for years. Contrastingly, rubber floor tile will certainly wear over time. Even if this material does not rip in any fashion, it will still wear due to footprints (it also has a tendency to wrinkle). Most people use this material in a recreational room due to the fact that this type of room does not have to be aesthetically appealing at all times.
If you are aware of the drawbacks associated with this type of material, then go ahead and place it inside of your home. While this material can be comfortable and nice to walk upon, it simply won’t last a long time. Then again, you may not need it to.... in the end, it’s all up to you.
If you want to experiment with rubber floor tile place some within a room for a short amount of time. Soon enough, you will discover whether or not this material is right for your space.
